Dr. Faisal S. Shaikh,
Consultant Psychiatrist
Dr. Shaikh is a senior consultant psychiatrist practicing both in the public (NHS) and the private sector (Mentis Clinic Ltd.). He has specialist interest in the assessment and treatment of Adult ADHD and ASD.
His clinical approach is patient-centric and holistic through combining neurobiological and psychodynamic thinking. His specialist area of expertise is Adult Neurodivergence and in particular ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In addition to his excellent English communication skills, he possesses fluency in Arabic, Dutch, Sindhi, and Urdu.
Dr. Shaikh trained in Medicine at Dow Medical College (Karachi, Pakistan) qualifying in 1999. He is a Hull and East Yorkshire trained psychiatrist. He is certified in General Adult and Rehabilitation Psychiatry from Yorkshire Deanery (2007). He has a couple of Masters of Science degrees in Population Health and Medical Leadership respectively. In 2015 he received a Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych).
Dr. Shaikh is an experienced Consultant Adult Psychiatrist who had practised previously in Dudley in the West Midlands from 2007 to 2019 and since then has relocated to the Hull and East Yorkshire region.
Additionally, he extemely passionate in raising awareness of and tackling loneliness. He is also certified Executive Coach and Mentor at ILM-7 level.
