John Masson is a skilled Person-Centred Counsellor and Transformational Coach, dedicated to fostering growth, resilience, and well-being in individuals from diverse backgrounds. With a strong foundation in empathetic, client-focused care, John combines his therapeutic expertise with extensive leadership experience to create impactful, people-centred outcomes.
John has built on his therapeutic counselling qualification and has added specialised certifications, including Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Prevention & Substance Misuse (ASIST), Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Domestic Violence Practitioner Levels 1-3. His commitment to continuous learning is evident through his certifications in Brain Recursive Therapy, Sport Wellbeing & Welfare, and Gambling and Gaming Awareness Education.
In his role as Player Welfare & Wellbeing Manager at Hull Kingston Rovers, John spearheaded holistic well-being strategies, established community projects supporting families and individuals, and created inclusive environments prioritising mental health. His work as a PWM contributed to the club achieving the gold standard for player welfare in the Super League.
John’s diverse professional journey includes senior management roles in business development, client relationship management, and strategic growth. His ability to inspire teams, foster meaningful relationships, and drive organisational success complements his therapeutic practice, making him uniquely positioned to support both individual and collective transformation.
Passionate about making a difference, John volunteers at the Trauma Centre in Hull, offering counselling to vulnerable adults and children. His dynamic approach integrates psychological insights, resilience-building techniques, and a growth mindset, empowering clients to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
